10 cu ft Steel Acetylene MC & 20 cu ft Steel Oxy-Acetylene Welding Cylinder Set

This perfect oxy-acetylene welding cylinder set combo for welding is a great way to save a buck. This combo set includes one new 10 cubic foot MC steel acetylene cylinder with a new CGA200 valve installed and one new 20 cubic foot steel oxygen cylinder with a CGA540 valve installed.

Oxygen is used in small amounts as an addition to other gases in welding applications; typically, as 2-5% addition to argon. It enhances arc stability and reduces the surface tension of the molten metal, increasing wetting of the solid metal.

These are thick-walled top-quality steel construction cylinders, finished in rust-resistant paints, black, red, or grey paint for acetylene, and green for oxygen.  Professional safety and performance features:

Please note: Acetylene cylinders require a shell inspection every 10 years. They also require an initial porous filler inspection at 5-20 years from the date of the manufacturer. This test is to be done no sooner than 5 years and no later than 20 years from the date of manufacturer. The Shell inspection is marked with an ‘S’ and the Porous Fill inspection is marked with an ‘F’.

Fast Shipping

Gas Cylinder Source knows you need your product now, which is why we offer super-fast shipping and even have an express option. We also recognize shipping charges can play a significant role in a purchase, and that is why we do everything we can to keep shipping rates as low as possible. We do not inflate the price of our products as a mask for free shipping offers. Our product prices are set at the best pricing we can offer, and the amount charged for shipping covers the shipping and delivery of your order. We believe this transparency in costs is the best way to keep you well-informed while receiving the best price available.

Calculate Your Shipping
You can calculate your shipping charge in just a few quick steps:

  • Add your desired product(s) to the shopping cart.
  • Navigate to the Shopping Cart page.
  • Click the "Calculate Shipping" link in the cart totals section and enter your Country, State, City, & Zip Code, then select the 'Update' button.

Residential vs Commercial Address
Initial shipping charges calculated in the Shopping Cart are figured using a residential shipping rate unless you have previously entered a commercial address in the ship-to field during a previous checkout session. Deliveries to a commercial address are typically cheaper than deliveries to a residential address and will be reflected on the checkout page once the full address has been entered and the system confirms it is a commercial address.

LTL Freight Shipments
For larger freight or custom orders, we ask you to allow for a 7-10 business day lead time for product preparation and shipping set up. A customer service representative may reach out to you requesting additional information such as liftgate needs, receiving hours, or other order details. Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information. LTL Freight Costs will be calculated on the day of shipment and may vary from your initial estimate, resulting in additional charges.

Time to Ship
Product is shipped from Minnesota. Transport time is usually between 1 and 5 days. Orders typically ship out the following business day after the order has been placed. Larger orders, and especially those going via a contracted freight service, may take additional time.

Order Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, an email will be sent to you with tracking details as well as a link you can use to track your shipment and find estimated delivery information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

▼ What is included in this oxygen and acetylene tank set?

This oxygen and acetylene tank set includes two new steel cylinders: a 10 cubic foot MC acetylene tank with a CGA200 valve and a 20 cubic foot oxygen tank with a CGA540 valve. Together they supply the two gases an oxy-acetylene torch needs for brazing, cutting, and light welding. Both cylinders ship empty and are filled at a local welding gas supplier.

▼ What can I do with a small oxy-acetylene set like this?

A small oxy-acetylene set handles soldering, brazing, heating, light welding, and thin-metal cutting. It suits jewelry work, HVAC brazing, auto repair, and hobby fabrication where a full-size rig is more than you need. The compact tanks make it portable enough to carry to the job.

▼ What torch and regulators do I need to use these tanks?

You will need an oxy-acetylene torch handle with an oxygen regulator that fits the CGA540 valve and an acetylene regulator that fits the CGA200 valve. These are the standard connections for oxygen and MC acetylene cylinders, so most small torch kits match them. The set includes the cylinders only, not the torch or regulators.

▼ How long do a 10 cf acetylene and 20 cf oxygen tank last?

Run time depends on your torch tip size and how continuously you work, but these small tanks are sized for short jobs rather than all-day production. A light brazing or jewelry session gets good use from a fill, while heavy cutting draws them down quickly. Watch both gauges, since oxygen is usually consumed faster than acetylene.

▼ What does "MC" mean on the acetylene tank?

MC is a standard cylinder size code, and an MC acetylene tank is the smallest common portable acetylene cylinder at about 10 cubic feet. It pairs well with a small oxygen tank for a light, portable oxy-acetylene outfit. The MC size uses a CGA200 valve, the standard connection for small acetylene cylinders.

▼ Can I refill these oxygen and acetylene tanks, and where?

Yes, any welding gas supplier can fill the oxygen cylinder, and acetylene is usually handled through fill or exchange at the same supplier. Because you own these cylinders, you can refill rather than rent, though many suppliers exchange small acetylene tanks instead of filling them on the spot. Ask your local supplier how they handle MC acetylene.

▼ Do these tanks come filled and ready to weld?

No, both cylinders ship empty for transport safety, so they must be filled before use. Take them to a welding gas supplier for oxygen and acetylene, and confirm the acetylene is filled with the correct acetone base. Once filled and connected to a torch with the right regulators, the set is ready.

▼ Is this set good for a beginner learning to weld or braze?

Yes, a small oxygen and acetylene set is a practical starting point for learning brazing, soldering, and light welding without a large investment. The portable tanks are easier to store and handle than full-size cylinders. As your work grows, you can step up to larger oxygen and acetylene tanks for longer run time.

▼ Are the cylinders new, and are they DOT approved?

Yes, both cylinders are new and carry current approvals: the acetylene tank is DOT and TC approved, and the oxygen tank is UN/ISO stamped and DOT approved, certified or hydro-tested within the last 12 months. New cylinders start the requalification clock fresh, so the next test is years away. A supplier reads the collar stamp before filling.

▼ How are oxygen and acetylene used together in welding?

In an oxy-acetylene setup, acetylene is the fuel gas and oxygen supports combustion, and together they create a flame hot enough to weld, braze, and cut steel. The torch mixes the two gases, and you adjust each regulator to set the flame. That is why the two tanks are sold together as a matched set.
