Fast Shipping

Gas Cylinder Source knows you need your product now, which is why we offer super-fast shipping and even have an express option. We also recognize shipping charges can play a significant role in a purchase, and that is why we do everything we can to keep shipping rates as low as possible. We do not inflate the price of our products as a mask for free shipping offers. Our product prices are set at the best pricing we can offer, and the amount charged for shipping covers the shipping and delivery of your order. We believe this transparency in costs is the best way to keep you well-informed while receiving the best price available.

Calculate Your Shipping
You can calculate your shipping charge in just a few quick steps:

  • Add your desired product(s) to the shopping cart.
  • Navigate to the Shopping Cart page.
  • Click the "Calculate Shipping" link in the cart totals section and enter your Country, State, City, & Zip Code, then select the 'Update' button.

Residential vs Commercial Address
Initial shipping charges calculated in the Shopping Cart are figured using a residential shipping rate unless you have previously entered a commercial address in the ship-to field during a previous checkout session. Deliveries to a commercial address are typically cheaper than deliveries to a residential address and will be reflected on the checkout page once the full address has been entered and the system confirms it is a commercial address.

LTL Freight Shipments
For larger freight or custom orders, we ask you to allow for a 7-10 business day lead time for product preparation and shipping set up. A customer service representative may reach out to you requesting additional information such as liftgate needs, receiving hours, or other order details. Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information. LTL Freight Costs will be calculated on the day of shipment and may vary from your initial estimate, resulting in additional charges.

Time to Ship
Product is shipped from Minnesota. Transport time is usually between 1 and 5 days. Orders typically ship out the following business day after the order has been placed. Larger orders, and especially those going via a contracted freight service, may take additional time.

Order Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, an email will be sent to you with tracking details as well as a link you can use to track your shipment and find estimated delivery information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

▼ How tall is a 125 cf argon tank, and will it fit a welding cart?

A 125 cf steel argon tank stands about 43 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter, which fits most standard welding carts and cylinder racks. Its compact footprint is easier to secure upright in a van or against a shop wall than a taller high-capacity cylinder. If space at your welding station is tight, this size balances gas capacity against a manageable height.

▼ How much does it cost to refill a 125 cf argon cylinder?

Refill pricing is set by your local gas supplier and varies by region and gas purity, so it is worth getting quotes from a few welding suppliers. Because you own this cylinder outright, you can shop refills competitively instead of paying rental plus fill. Owners often find the per-fill cost drops over time compared with renting a bottle.

▼ Is buying a 125 cf argon tank cheaper than renting one?

For anyone who welds regularly, buying is usually cheaper than renting because there are no recurring rental or demurrage fees. You own the cylinder, so your only ongoing cost is the gas refill itself. Occasional welders may still prefer renting or a smaller owned bottle.

▼ What argon cylinder sizes are available, and where does 125 cf fit?

Owned argon cylinders commonly run from 20 cf and 40 cf bottles up through 80 cf, 125 cf, and larger 300 cf cylinders. At 125 cf, this tank is a practical mid-size choice with enough shielding gas for steady shop welding without the weight of the largest cylinders. Frequent welders often move up to 125 cf or higher to reduce refill trips.

▼ How long will a 125 cf argon tank last while welding?

At a typical shielding gas flow of 20 to 25 CFH, a 125 cf argon tank gives roughly 5 to 6 hours of arc time. Higher flow for drafty conditions or larger MIG nozzles uses gas faster, while light TIG work stretches it further. Estimating your weekly arc hours helps you judge whether this size or a larger cylinder fits your schedule.

▼ Can I use this argon cylinder for MIG welding with a CO2 mix?

Yes, the cylinder is rated for inert and mixed gases, so a supplier can fill it with a MIG blend such as 75 percent argon and 25 percent CO2 for steel. The cylinder does not set the blend, so tell the gas supplier the exact mix your process needs. Pure argon remains the choice for TIG and for MIG on aluminum.

▼ Do I own this argon cylinder, or is it a supplier rental?

You own this cylinder outright once purchased, with no rental contract tying you to one supplier. Ownership lets you refill or exchange it anywhere and keeps long-term cost below recurring rental fees. Keep your purchase and hydro-test records to prove ownership at exchange.

▼ When does a steel argon cylinder need requalification?

A high-pressure steel argon cylinder must be hydrostatically requalified on a set DOT interval, and the last test date is stamped into the collar. A qualified supplier checks that date at every fill and will requalify or decline an out-of-date cylinder. Buying new starts the clock fresh, so the next requalification is years away.

▼ Does the argon cylinder arrive filled and ready to weld?

No, all cylinders ship empty for transport safety, so this tank must be filled before first use. Take it to a welding gas supplier that can provide argon or your chosen mix and fill to the marked service pressure. Once filled and fitted with a CGA580 regulator, it is ready for the welder.
