Fast Shipping

Gas Cylinder Source knows you need your product now, which is why we offer super-fast shipping and even have an express option. We also recognize shipping charges can play a significant role in a purchase, and that is why we do everything we can to keep shipping rates as low as possible. We do not inflate the price of our products as a mask for free shipping offers. Our product prices are set at the best pricing we can offer, and the amount charged for shipping covers the shipping and delivery of your order. We believe this transparency in costs is the best way to keep you well-informed while receiving the best price available.

Calculate Your Shipping
You can calculate your shipping charge in just a few quick steps:

  • Add your desired product(s) to the shopping cart.
  • Navigate to the Shopping Cart page.
  • Click the "Calculate Shipping" link in the cart totals section and enter your Country, State, City, & Zip Code, then select the 'Update' button.

Residential vs Commercial Address
Initial shipping charges calculated in the Shopping Cart are figured using a residential shipping rate unless you have previously entered a commercial address in the ship-to field during a previous checkout session. Deliveries to a commercial address are typically cheaper than deliveries to a residential address and will be reflected on the checkout page once the full address has been entered and the system confirms it is a commercial address.

LTL Freight Shipments
For larger freight or custom orders, we ask you to allow for a 7-10 business day lead time for product preparation and shipping set up. A customer service representative may reach out to you requesting additional information such as liftgate needs, receiving hours, or other order details. Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information. LTL Freight Costs will be calculated on the day of shipment and may vary from your initial estimate, resulting in additional charges.

Time to Ship
Product is shipped from Minnesota. Transport time is usually between 1 and 5 days. Orders typically ship out the following business day after the order has been placed. Larger orders, and especially those going via a contracted freight service, may take additional time.

Order Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, an email will be sent to you with tracking details as well as a link you can use to track your shipment and find estimated delivery information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

โ–ผ What is the 33.5 lb Aluminum Forklift Propane Cylinder designed for?

The 33.5 lb aluminum forklift propane cylinder is designed to fuel propane-powered forklifts in warehouse, distribution, and industrial environments.

This cylinder is built specifically for horizontal forklift mounting and includes the correct valve configuration for LP gas service. The 33.5 lb size is the industry-standard capacity for most propane forklifts, providing a practical balance between runtime and manageable handling weight.

Aluminum construction reduces overall weight compared to steel while maintaining DOT compliance for LP gas use. It is a common choice for fleets that require frequent cylinder changes and consistent daily operation.

As with all cylinders, it ships empty and must be filled by a qualified propane supplier in accordance with local codes and regulations.

โ–ผ Who should use this 33.5 lb forklift propane tank?

This cylinder is ideal for warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and any operation running propane-powered forklifts.

It is especially well-suited for businesses that want to own their forklift cylinders rather than pay ongoing rental or exchange fees to traditional gas suppliers. Companies operating multiple forklifts can standardize their fleet around the 33.5 lb size for consistency and simplified inventory management.

For high-cycle environments where cylinders are swapped daily, the lighter aluminum body reduces strain on operators and improves handling efficiency.

โ–ผ How long will a 33.5 lb propane forklift cylinder run before needing a refill?

A 33.5 lb propane forklift cylinder typically provides a full shift of runtime under standard operating conditions, depending on forklift size and workload.

Actual runtime varies based on engine size, lift frequency, load weight, and idle time. In most warehouse applications, this capacity is sufficient for standard 8-hour shifts when properly filled.

For multi-shift operations, facilities often keep additional filled cylinders on hand to prevent downtime. Proper filling practices and regular inspection help maintain consistent performance.

โ–ผ Is an aluminum forklift cylinder better than a steel one?

An aluminum forklift cylinder is lighter and corrosion-resistant, making it easier to handle and well-suited for demanding industrial environments.

Compared to steel cylinders, aluminum cylinders typically weigh significantly less, reducing strain during cylinder changes. Aluminum also resists rust, making it a strong choice in humid or wash-down environments.

Steel cylinders generally have a lower initial purchase cost, but aluminum is often preferred for fleet operations prioritizing ergonomics and long-term durability.

Both types must meet DOT standards and be requalified according to required retest intervals.

โ–ผ Is this forklift propane cylinder DOT compliant?

Yes. This cylinder meets current DOT requirements for propane/LP gas service.

DOT certification ensures the cylinder is manufactured and tested to federal safety standards for transport and use in the United States. Compliance markings are stamped on the cylinder collar or body as required.

It is the customerโ€™s responsibility to confirm compatibility with their forklift and to ensure the cylinder is filled and handled in accordance with OSHA and local fire code guidelines.

โ–ผ What valve type does this 33.5 lb forklift propane cylinder use?

This forklift cylinder includes a propane service valve configured for horizontal forklift mounting.

Forklift propane cylinders are equipped with the appropriate service valve, relief valve, and liquid withdrawal configuration required for LP gas-powered industrial trucks. The horizontal design ensures proper liquid propane withdrawal when mounted correctly.

Customers should confirm that their forklift bracket and connection match standard propane forklift cylinder fittings before purchase.

โ–ผ What are the typical dimensions and weight of a 33.5 lb aluminum forklift cylinder?

A standard 33.5 lb aluminum forklift propane cylinder is designed to meet common industry dimensions for forklift mounting brackets.

Exact dimensions and tare weight may vary slightly by approved manufacturer, but the cylinder is engineered to fit standard forklift tank brackets and restraint systems used across most major forklift brands.

Because manufacturers can vary, minor cosmetic differences, such as dome finish, may occur while still meeting the same DOT specifications and performance standards.

โ–ผ Can this propane cylinder be used for applications other than forklifts?

This cylinder is designed specifically for forklift fuel applications and horizontal liquid withdrawal.

While it stores propane, its valve configuration and mounting design are intended for forklift use. It is not a general-purpose grill or vertical RV cylinder.

Using a cylinder outside its intended application may create safety or performance issues. Always match cylinder type to the equipment manufacturerโ€™s requirements.

โ–ผ Is this cylinder suitable for high-volume, multi-shift forklift operations?

Yes. The 33.5 lb capacity is the industry standard for multi-shift warehouse and industrial forklift fleets.

Facilities running continuous operations typically rotate filled cylinders to minimize downtime. Aluminum construction supports repeated daily handling while resisting corrosion and wear.

For larger fleets, owning multiple cylinders allows companies to eliminate rental fees and maintain direct control over refilling logistics.

โ–ผ Does the 33.5 lb aluminum forklift propane cylinder ship full?

No. All cylinders ship empty for safety and regulatory compliance.

Federal transportation regulations prohibit shipping filled propane cylinders via standard commercial carriers. Customers must have the cylinder filled locally by a qualified propane supplier.

Always inspect and secure the cylinder properly before first use.

โ–ผ What are the recertification requirements for a forklift propane cylinder?

Forklift propane cylinders must be requalified periodically in accordance with DOT regulations.

Aluminum propane cylinders typically have a 12-year initial qualification period, after which requalification is required at defined intervals. The exact retest date is stamped on the cylinder.

Operating a cylinder past its required retest date is unsafe and not compliant. Always verify current markings before use.

โ–ผ Can this forklift propane cylinder help reduce operating costs?

Yes. Owning forklift cylinders can eliminate recurring rental or lease fees from traditional gas suppliers.

Many industrial gas suppliers charge ongoing monthly cylinder rental fees. By purchasing cylinders outright, businesses can reduce long-term operating expenses, particularly in fleets running multiple forklifts.

Ownership also provides flexibility in choosing local propane refill providers based on price and availability.

โ–ผ Is this cylinder compatible with all forklift brands?

The 33.5 lb size is the industry standard for most propane-powered forklifts, but compatibility should always be confirmed.

Most major forklift manufacturers use standardized mounting brackets for 33.5 lb horizontal propane cylinders. However, customers should verify bracket size, fitting type, and clearance requirements before purchase.

If there is uncertainty, provide your forklift model details before ordering.

โ–ผ How should a forklift propane cylinder be handled and stored?

Forklift propane cylinders must be handled upright when not in use, secured during transport, and stored in accordance with fire code regulations.

During operation, the cylinder must be mounted horizontally in the forklift bracket as designed. Always secure the cylinder to prevent tipping or impact damage.

Never modify valves, remove safety components, or fill with incompatible gases. Only qualified propane suppliers should perform filling.

โ–ผ What should I inspect when the cylinder arrives?

Inspect the cylinder for visible damage, confirm the hydrostatic test date, and verify the valve configuration matches your forklift setup.

Cylinders should be pressure tested and visually inspected upon receipt before filling. Do not remove or alter the valve.

If there are concerns about damage or compatibility, contact customer support before use.
