Fast Shipping

Gas Cylinder Source knows you need your product now, which is why we offer super-fast shipping and even have an express option. We also recognize shipping charges can play a significant role in a purchase, and that is why we do everything we can to keep shipping rates as low as possible. We do not inflate the price of our products as a mask for free shipping offers. Our product prices are set at the best pricing we can offer, and the amount charged for shipping covers the shipping and delivery of your order. We believe this transparency in costs is the best way to keep you well-informed while receiving the best price available.

Calculate Your Shipping
You can calculate your shipping charge in just a few quick steps:

  • Add your desired product(s) to the shopping cart.
  • Navigate to the Shopping Cart page.
  • Click the "Calculate Shipping" link in the cart totals section and enter your Country, State, City, & Zip Code, then select the 'Update' button.

Residential vs Commercial Address
Initial shipping charges calculated in the Shopping Cart are figured using a residential shipping rate unless you have previously entered a commercial address in the ship-to field during a previous checkout session. Deliveries to a commercial address are typically cheaper than deliveries to a residential address and will be reflected on the checkout page once the full address has been entered and the system confirms it is a commercial address.

LTL Freight Shipments
For larger freight or custom orders, we ask you to allow for a 7-10 business day lead time for product preparation and shipping set up. A customer service representative may reach out to you requesting additional information such as liftgate needs, receiving hours, or other order details. Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information. LTL Freight Costs will be calculated on the day of shipment and may vary from your initial estimate, resulting in additional charges.

Time to Ship
Product is shipped from Minnesota. Transport time is usually between 1 and 5 days. Orders typically ship out the following business day after the order has been placed. Larger orders, and especially those going via a contracted freight service, may take additional time.

Order Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, an email will be sent to you with tracking details as well as a link you can use to track your shipment and find estimated delivery information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

▼ What size oxy acetylene tanks are in this set and who is it for?

This set pairs a 75 cf acetylene cylinder with an 80 cf oxygen cylinder, which is the full-size shop pairing rather than a portable kit. It suits regular cutting, brazing, and welding where refill frequency matters more than carrying weight. Anyone needing a set they can lift into a vehicle should look at the smaller MC and 20 cf pairing instead.

▼ Why is the oxygen cylinder larger than the acetylene cylinder?

Cutting and heating consume oxygen considerably faster than acetylene, so a balanced set carries proportionally more oxygen. Matching two equal-capacity cylinders means the oxygen runs out well before the acetylene, forcing a refill trip for one bottle only. The 75/80 pairing is sized to empty at roughly comparable rates in normal use.

▼ Are regulators, hoses, and a torch included with the set?

No, the set includes the two cylinders with their valves and protective caps only. A complete outfit also needs an oxygen regulator with a CGA540 inlet, an acetylene regulator with a CGA510 inlet, twin hoses, check valves, flashback arrestors, and a torch handle with tips. These are sold separately.

▼ Why must an acetylene cylinder never be used lying down?

Acetylene cylinders are packed with a porous filler saturated in liquid acetone that keeps the gas stable, and lying the cylinder down allows acetone to reach the valve. Using it on its side can draw acetone into the hoses and torch, damaging equipment and creating a hazard. If a cylinder has been transported horizontally, stand it upright for at least an hour before use.

▼ What is the maximum safe acetylene working pressure?

Acetylene must never be used above 15 PSI at the torch, because it becomes unstable at higher pressures. Every acetylene regulator is designed with this limit in mind, and the red line on the gauge marks it. This limit applies regardless of cylinder size.

▼ What flashback arrestors and check valves does this set need?

Both gas lines should have check valves to prevent reverse gas flow and flashback arrestors to stop a flame travelling back up the hose. They are inexpensive relative to the consequences of omitting them and are widely regarded as mandatory on any oxy fuel setup. Fit them at the regulator, or at both regulator and torch for added protection.

▼ How should oxygen and acetylene cylinders be stored together?

They should be stored upright, secured against tipping, with caps fitted, and with oxygen separated from fuel gas cylinders by distance or a fire-resistant barrier when not in use on a cart. Keeping them chained to a proper cylinder cart is the normal working arrangement. Storage areas must be ventilated and free of oil and grease.

▼ Do these cylinders ship filled with gas?

No, both ship empty. Compressed and dissolved gases cannot be shipped by standard carriers under hazardous materials rules, so both cylinders arrive empty with valves installed and are filled at a local welding gas supplier.

▼ Can these cylinders be refilled anywhere or must they be exchanged?

Because the cylinders are purchased outright, they can be refilled or exchanged at most welding gas suppliers, and there are no monthly rental charges. This is the practical difference from leasing, where the cylinder stays the property of the supplier and accrues demurrage.

▼ What is the difference between this set and a smaller portable oxy acetylene kit?

This set holds roughly four to five times the gas of a portable MC and 20 cf pairing, so it is refilled far less often, but it is too heavy to be carried comfortably and belongs on a cylinder cart. The smaller kit is for mobile and occasional work. Torch performance and gas quality are identical; only capacity and portability differ.
